What a wonderful day, when you can be fed with words of wisdom from the moment you start your day! I have been generously blessed with some of the most fabulous contacts. As the reading below will state, I would be remiss in my duties of any kind of person not to also share these words with you. We have many stand out people in our circles of life that we all have. It is absolutely necessary and critical that we take care of our support systems so they will be there for us whether they are family, friends, or work related. Happy Happy Friday!!
These words below were shared with me today and I just had to share with you ~

Occasionally, I read or hear someone's thoughts that are worth passing along. In this case, it would be paramount to gross disregard - for my friends, colleagues, and partners - if I were to not pass this along. Read it. Digest it. And, above all else, learn from this:
Leadership from the Inside Out
Many of us have spent most of our lives getting to the top. We have worked impossible hours and missed precious times. We have built up confidence on top of our insecurities and doubt. We have made hard choices and dealt with harsh consequences. We have watched others walk through fires that torched whole companies and remain unscathed but at the expense of everyone else. The best and worst of human nature has looked at us often and beckoned. We have to choose everyday. What will be my path? What will be the legacy I leave behind?
Every leader is first a human being. We don’t often allow for that kind of latitude. Who leads the leader? Who is there to hear the vulnerabilities of the great, the ones we look up to, the ones we count on? I am. It is a privilege.
Business is the most dominant institution we have. Its reach touches everything and its impact is greater now than government or the church. It is imperative that the ones who lead in this institution are grounded, centered, authentic and care for the people they are responsible for. We know this doesn’t happen often enough. But that is changing.
When disaster strikes we deploy military response teams to affected areas. The mandate is to bring stability and well being to the people of that area. We can’t often support every member of the deployed force while they are in action. What we can do is to use an SOS Approach. Support of Source means that we find hubs in that response activity and directly support that person knowing that as a hub, the ripple effect will touch many more people and ensure they in turn get more of what they need.
In business we need a similar approach. Support of Source means directly working with leaders of corporations to ensure that they are getting the support and guidance they need to do their best, without judgments.
Just recently I had an IT executive fly into Toronto to work over a weekend with me. Was it an expense for him? Of course. Did he walk away feeling amazing and ready to tackle the large challenges that awaited him at home? Yes. And he referred two more people he knows. Why would he do that?
Business, as the most powerful vehicle for change, must change with societal expectations. And that is happening. Part of that change is a change within. The ripple effect is immense and wonderful.
Please let me know how I can help you to be the best leader you can be. The kind you really want to be.
Walk well,
Angela
